Noah

Noah

(Rich Mullins)

Noah went into the ark with cats to purr and dogs to bark
Noah went into the ark and he sailed upon the water.
Noah, he bolted the door with birds to chirp and lions to roar.
Noah, he bolted the door and he sailed upon the water.
Ride, Noah, ride! Till the water has gone and the earth has dried.
Ride, Noah, ride high up upon the water.
Then, the Lord ended the flood.Noah opened a window and let loose a dove.
Then, the Lord ended the flood. And, He called a halt to the water.
The animals left two by two to go out to eat and to reproduce
The animals left two by two. And, they became mothers and fathers.
Now, Noah, now! Get you a hammer and build you a house.
Now, Noah, now! There’ll be no more trouble with water.

Song notes: Written probably in 1979, "Noah" was likely the second song Rich Mullins wrote on the Hammered Dulcimer.
