Harmony

Harmony

(Rich Mullins)

I sit in an empty room. Nobody can hear me but myself.
Pounding out the rhythms; trying to make a melody.
Knocking some dust off of the shelf.
Pen down a line or two. Do your best to make this message clear.
'Cause you know the children... so many waiting just down the road;
You've got the words they need to hear.
It started long ago just outside of Bethlehem
When the angels came to sing their songs of "Peace on Earth! Good will to men!"
And, every time you sing that harmony you bring a chance for peace again.
Don't you know you've got to sing that harmony once again!
You're not alone anymore. Someone's come to give this boy a chance.
Hope you've got your lines down. Ready! Set! And, you're on your way.
Give them the rhythm and make them dance.
Hold out the note a while. Change a key or change your way of life.
'Cause, you know the children, tightly bound in Satan's bonds.
You got two hands and the Gospel's a knife.
It started long ago on the Sea of Galilee
When a carpenter's kid caught some fishermen, and He taught them to be free.
And, don't you know that I have got to keep on singing out in harmony.
Don't you know, I got to keep on singing out in harmony?
Don't you know, I got to sing in harmony? I got to sing in harmony until I die?
Don't you know, I got to sing in harmony? I got to sing in harmony until I die?
And, now that the song is done. You got a break. You better make it a way.
'Cause you know the children, so many waiting just down the road.
Find you another place to play.
You've done it all in love. Otherwise you've done it all in vain.
Leave your name on the doormat. Lose yourself in the ones you love.
All that you're doing, do in His name.
It started long ago when they pinned Him to the sky.
And, the heaven's that glowed on the day He was born grew dark to hide their eyes.
And, don't you know that I have got to sing that harmony until I die!
Until I die!
Don't you know, I got to sing in harmony until I die?
Don't you know, I got to sing in harmony? I got to sing in harmony until I die?
Don't you know, I got to sing in harmony? I got to sing in harmony until I die?
Don't you know, you got to sing in harmony? You got to sing in harmony until you die?
